Working in close collaboration with other members of the Business Services team, the Business Services Senior offers an essential support service to clients

YOUR MISSION

The Business Services Senior works in close collaboration with the other members of the team to provide a reliable outsourced management accounting service for clients. The Business Services Senior will:

  • Complete Monthly Management accounts for clients on various systems and using Excel.
  • Review annual bookkeeping and identify issues or make suggestions on better practice.
  • Completed new client bookkeeping set ups, and Xero set ups.
  • Support client on Bookkeeping, teaching them how to correct items 
  • Complete adhoc messy Bookkeeping jobs
  • Review Bookkeeping Work completed by juniors
  • Cashflow forecasts weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Forecasting
  • Review VAT returns
  • Reconcile Clients Trial balances and correct any issues.
  • Submit and reconcile and CIS returns
  • Have a in-depth VAT knowledge of different VAT scheme as well as partial exemption
  • Client work can take place either on client premises or in Stag Gates House. 
  • Provide coaching and support to AP/BSS Juniors, ensuring that juniors are able to complete their assignments to agreed standards.
  • A commitment to personal continuous professional development, ensuring that skills remain current and relevant for the requirements of the role. 
  • Liaising and communicating with clients as agreed by the Client Manager or BSS Manager.
  • Working to the deadlines and budgets set by the BSS Manager and being proactive in dealing with scenarios where delays or overruns are identified. 

The role will be a key member of the Business Services team and will be at the level of an experienced accounts Senior. 

Reporting into the Business Services Manager, the BSS Senior will work alongside all other members of the Business Services Team and Client Managers across the firm. 

They will offer support to more junior colleagues and will have direct contact with clients.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience  
  • Experienced Xero user – able to use the software effectively and confidently
  • Clear written and spoken communications skills with both clients and colleagues.  
  • Able to make effective decisions about the appropriate channel of communications. 
  • Strong and effective organisation skills and a methodical approach to their work
  • Effective prioritisation skills – able to adapt approach to achieve multiple deadlines
  • Able to work independently without close supervision
  • A commitment to the values of the firm, Opportunity, Fairness, Transparency, Personal Responsibility and Teamwork
  • A commitment to personal continuous professional development, ensuring that skills remain current and relevant for the requirements of the role.
  • Great interpersonal skills
