Stepping stones to your career in Accountancy or Tax
What is the Fiander Tovell work experience programme?
Are you currently studying for your A levels or equivalent? Are you considering a career in accountancy? Would you like to find out more?
We offer a number of week long placements, usually during July and August. We will provide a varied programme during the week’s placement, including personal tax, general accounts and audit work.
Valuable insight
The week will give you the opportunity to gain an insight into a career in accountancy and to assess your own work place readiness. Should your courses have specific requirements relating to work experience, please do make us aware of this and we will endeavour to include these requirements in your placement with us. You’ll enjoy working alongside our trainees, with the full support of our team – all qualified, time-served experts delighted to give you the benefit of their experience and expertise.

Do I qualify?
Typically, you will be studying for A levels or equivalent in Maths, Accounting, Sciences or business related subjects, although this is not mandatory. You will need to have a record which demonstrates a sound level of aptitude at numeracy and literacy (minimum grade 6 at Maths and English GCSE). You will need to bring the energy and enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to learn.
The successful applicants will be intelligent, articulate and personable. They should enjoy working as part of a team, but demonstrate the ability to work and think independently. They should be prepared to accept responsibility and show a commitment to their career.
Each year we receive more requests for work experience placements than we are able to offer. We select on the basis of your CV and covering letter. Where possible we will also seek references from your course tutors, so please provide details.
And if i do well?
Those students who stand out as having the commitment and the skills required for a successful career in accountancy will be offered the opportunity to apply for our Training Programme when they finish their A level studies.
